Meet the Charlotte Gaze Babes

Jessica Guffey

Owner Jessica Guffey, a native of Hendersonville NC, and a graduate of UNC Asheville and AB Tech, always knew she would come home to North Carolina and make an impact. Living in Maui she became certified to apply semi-permanent eyelash extensions and then attained her esthetics license in North Carolina. Jessica has always loved helping women look and feel more confident and comfortable in their own skin. When she isn’t in the studio Jessica is hanging with her pups, watering her plants, or planning her next vacation.

Brittany Waters, was born in Maryland and raised in Charlotte, NC. She has a background in Health Education but has always had a love for skincare and helping others. Brittany took that love of skincare and obtained her esthetics license so that she can help others achieve their skin goals. When Brittany is not in the treatment room you can find her traveling, laughing with friends, or catching a movie.

Kali
Kali Chapman was born and raised in Greenville, SC. She developed an interest in makeup and beauty from a young age and later discovered her love for skincare. Because of this, she decided to pursue a career in esthetics. After she acquired her license, she moved to Asheville to focus primarily on lash extensions. When she is not in the studio, you can find her spending time with friends or working on her latest arts and crafts project.
omisha torres

Omisha Torres, was born in Pennsylvania and raised in Charlotte, NC. She got her cosmetology license and gave working in a salon a shot but decided the hair industry was not for her. Soon after she found a passion for lashing and found it to be more relaxing. When Omisha’s not in the studio you can catch her baking, playing with her pet hamster or hanging out with friends.

Frequently Asked Questions

Microblading is a semi-permanent form of cosmetic tattooing.  Unlike traditional tattoos, which use a tattoo gun, microblading uses a blade shaped tool with a row of tiny needles to create hair-like strokes while depositing pigment into the skin.  Microblading is a more natural looking aesthetic.

Microshading is a semi-permanent form of cosmetic tattooing using pigment ink and a handheld machine to deposit tiny pin-like dots to fill in the brows.  Microshading appears more dramatic than microblading and is recommended for clients who fill in their brows daily.  Microblading and microshading can be combined.  These are all great alternatives to filling in brows daily and can last up to a year before touch ups are needed.

A brow lamination is a similar process to a lash lift. The process essentially involves straightening eyebrow hair using a keratin setting solution, so that they all stand in the desired direction. Most brows have some curl to them so when they are straightened into place, the result is a more voluminous, yet natural-looking arch. We like to say it’s like “a blow-out for your brows”. This service includes a vegan based tint for the brows as well.

First a silicone rod is placed on the eyelid then the lashes are temporarily set onto the rod and isolated using a water soluble adhesive. We then use a lash lift solution that gently curls the eyelashes and sets them into place for approximately 6 weeks. Our lash lift is enriched with proteins, amino acids and vitamin complex ingredients such as keratin, biotin, and hydrolysed collagen to help restore proteins, speed up cell generation, and increase moisture levels to the hair which allows lashes to appear groomed and fuller. The last step of the lash lift process is to tint and deep condition with plant based products.

Classic lash extensions are a single, individual eyelash extension placed on each natural lash of the upper lash line. For volume lash extensions, an individual, handmade fan of eyelash extensions is placed on each natural lash of the upper lash line. Classic lash extensions give a more natural appearance, while volume lash extensions are fuller and can be much more dramatic. We also offer mega volume extensions. Mega volume is typically recommended for special occasions. Mega volume is a larger, longer fan attached to each individual lash.

A Classic Lash Set, Volume Lash Set, or Mega Volume Set are the available options if you would like to book lash extensions, and currently do not have them. These options differ based on the desired look and fullness of the lashes.

A New Client Fill is the available option for clients who are new to our studio and currently have lash extensions. There are options for Classic, Volume, and Mega Volume. We book extra time for the new client fill in but cannot always guarantee that we will be able to work on another artists’ work.

Dermaplaning is the gentle and precise removal of fine vellus hair and dead skin cells leaving a smoother, brighter complexion.  Dermaplaning aids in overall skin exfoliation and allows for deeper penetration of products. Suitable for most skin types.
